Koresh Dance Company
The Koresh Dance Company strives to be an artistic force by creating innovative and emotional dance performances for audiences in Philadelphia and around the nation. The company’s original dance pieces break through boundaries of traditional choreography and offers audiences an exciting experience. The company now performs 20-22 times a year, both nationally and internationally, with at least two annual performances in Philadelphia.
Koresh School of Dance
Our school offers high quality dance instruction for ages 2-seniors in techniques ranging from ballet, jazz, tap and modern to creative movement, Mommy and Me and tumbling.
Koresh Kids Dance Outreach Program
Each week, our instructors get children off their feet and dancing in our outreach dance classes. We teach all techniques for underserved children in Philadelphia, grades preK-12.
Koresh Artist Showcases
A newly formed community initiative to help local artists perform work with no expense cost. Participating artists receive free marketing, free rehearsal space, technical support and free venue rental.
The Dancers' Fund
Our long-term goal has been to employ our dancers full time so that they can dedicate their time solely to their demanding art. The Dancers’ Fund was established to ensure full-time salaries for our remarkable dancers.
The Brook J. Lenfest Young Dancer Scholarship Program
Founded in 2003 with the opening of the youth classes, this scholarship program opens doors for young dancers without the means to afford dance classes. Through this program, we are able to offer subsidized training to dancers.
New Choreography by Ronen Koresh
Artistic director Ronen Koresh continues to make 2-3 new works per season, adding to his already diverse repertory.
Guest Artists
We welcome guest artists and teachers from all over the world to choreograph on the company, and also teach dancers in the community. Through this program we have had guest artists such as Donald Byrd (Spectrum Dance Theater), Robert Battle (Battleworks Dance Co), Itzik Galili (Galili Dance, The Netherlands) and Jussi Nousiainen (The Netherlands).
Touring Activities – National and International
The company tours across the country and abroad, working towards our mission of making dance accessible to audiences everywhere. While on tour, the company also provides residency activities in the forms of master classes, post performance Q and A, and lecture/demonstrations.
Please consider making a contribution to the Koresh Dance Company so we can maintain out presence in Philadelphia and continue working towards our goals.
