This year, Koresh Dance Company unveils a new partnership: a collaboration between Roni Koresh and experimental musician Paul Miller, a.k.a. DJ Spooky. Together, they will produce “23: Deconstructing Mozart,” which will premiere in Philadelphia in March 2016 as part of an evening-length work on the theme of prime numbers. In “23,” a twist on the classical, Miller will disarticulate and rebuild portions of Mozart’s concerto, creating new sounds and layers to bring the classic into the present. To this new music, Koresh will combine the industrial and the lyrical to produce a potent remix of his precise, athletic style.
